What is a Keratin Smoothing Treatment?
A Keratin smoothing treatment is a gentle chemical process applied directly to the hair which is then sealed in with heat and a flat iron. The sericin and keratin in the treatment work together to provide a cement like strength into the core of the hair giving it strength, shine and manageability to combat frizz, reduce blow dry time and daily styling. It is also known as a Brazilian keratin treatment or a Brazilian blowout but instead we use a formaldehyde free treatment.
How long does a Keratin Smoothing Treatment Last?
A keratin smoothing treatment can last up to 5 months. The longevity depends on the amount of washing after the treatment as well as what type of aftercare products are used. It’s important you are using professional grade products with no sulphates, and are paraben free. Heat protectant / leave in conditioner is always recommended to protect your hair from heat damage.
Is a keratin smoothing treatment damaging for my hair?
A keratin treatment is actually quite the opposite. It is recommended for clients with damaged hair. It repairs and helps fortify the structure of your hair from the core of each strand that builds a cement like structure filling in the gaps to create shinier frizz free hair.

Does a Keratin smoothing treatment make my hair straight?
No, the Keratin Smoothing treatment does not make your hair straight. Its help with reducing frizz and helps damaged hair be healthy again.
Does it have Formaldehyde?
Absolutely not! Cezanne is toxic free, naturally safe and effective keratin smoothing treatment. It includes Vitamin C, E, Sugar Cane, Lemon, Apple, Green Tree extracts.
Does it have odour?
Yes, there is a temporary odour but it disappears after a few washes.
Is Japanese straightening or Keratin smoothing treatment better for my hair?
This answer is based on your own personal goals. Japanese Straightening is very damaging and permanently alters the hair cuticle which keeps it pin straight. You will notice your new regrowth come in resulting two hair patterns. The only way to get rid of it is to grow it out completely which can take many years. Cezanne does not alter the natural hair pattern and eventually washes out the purposes is just to soften and reduce frizz and by adding impeccable shine.
Should I cut or colour my hair before doing a keratin smoothing treatment?
We always recommend to wait until the service is done. The process of the smoothing treatment can lift colour slightly and you’ll see the health of the hair to see the amount required for a haircut.
